Attending the ceremony
Guest seating
Students must register their guests
- Guest numbers: Graduating students can invite up to four guests. This limit ensures all graduates can have guests in attendance.
- Tickets: No tickets are issued for guests.
- Seating availability: Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- When are seats open? Seats opens once the prior ceremony attendees have exited the gym, up to 60 minutes before the ceremony starts.
- All guests will be treated in a professional and courteous manner by UBC staff. We expect all guests to treat graduates, guests and staff in the same manner.
- Guests must treat others with respect, dignity, and concern.
- Guests must comply with staff’s guidance and rules to ensure that they can perform their duties as expected.
- Guests must refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, harassing behaviour or speech, as well as any violent behaviour.
- Guests must refrain from bringing prohibited items (including weapons, backpacks and large bags, flags and signs, horns and noisemakers, etc) and may be asked to check these items before entering the ceremony venue.
Accessible seating is available for people with limited mobility including wheelchairs and walkers. Due to limited seating capacity, the Accessible seating area will be able to accommodate one attendant per wheelchair user.

Temporary stroller storage is available on the upper level of the gymnasium. Users assume all risk with leaving strollers there.
Please leave strollers in a designated storage area or outside the gym. This helps keep aisles clear and complies with fire marshal rules.
Pets are not permitted inside campus buildings, with the exception of guide and service animals. View the UBC Okanagan Pet Protocol

Pre-order and pick up a bouquet at the gym entrance on the day of the ceremony. Pre-made bouquets can also be purchased on-site.
