Day of details
Check-in, regalia and procession
- Check the schedule and arrive at the Administration Building 90 minutes before your ceremony start time
- To check in at ADM bring your UBC card or government-issued ID. Know your procession number.
- Pick up your academic regalia.
- You will receive your degree folder and a reader card inscribed with your name.
- You will then join the procession line up. You MUST remain in your own line and in your original position within that line. This is determined by your procession number. Your position in the procession is decided by the required order of appearance when you cross the stage.
- Marshals will guide you from ADM to the Gymnasium and into your seat. This will be your seat for the duration of the convocation ceremony.
Crossing the stage
- When it is time to cross the stage, you will be directed to rise and follow the marshal to the platform.
- Stop on the platform and hand your name card to the person reading the names. As your name is read out, pause for a moment in front of the Reader’s Podium facing the audience so that a picture of you can be taken. Proceed across the platform, pausing for a photo with the President.
- A marshal will then direct you back to your seat.
After your ceremony
